Vietnamese EV manufacturer VinFast has officially entered the Indian electric SUV market with the launch of its VF6 and VF7 models. Positioned against mid-size ICE and electric SUVs, the VinFast VF7 2025 brings a competitive mix of pricing, performance, and advanced features aimed at the fast-growing Indian EV segment.
Pricing and Variants
The VinFast VF7 2025 is offered in five trims – Wind, Wind Infinity, Sky, Sky Infinity, and Infinity Pack.
- Price Range: Starts at ₹24 lakh, going up to ₹29 lakh for the top-end variant.
- Infinity Editions: Additional ₹50,000 for a panoramic glass roof, though not a sunroof.
Battery Options and Performance
Buyers can choose between two battery packs with distinct performance outputs:
- 59.6 kWh battery
- Power: 204 BHP, Torque: 310 Nm
- Claimed Range: 468 km (expected real-world: 350–400 km)
- 70.8 kWh battery with All-Wheel Drive (AWD)
- Power: 354 BHP, Torque: 500 Nm

Both VF6 and VF7 offer 190 mm ground clearance, aligning with SUV standards though the VinFast VF7 2025 feels closer to a crossover in stance.
Charging and Warranty
- Fast Charging: 10% to 70% in just 28 minutes.
- Free Benefits: 3 years of free maintenance and charging.
- Warranty: 10 years on both the vehicle and battery.
Design and Dimensions
While priced to compete with vehicles like the Tata Harrier and MG Hector, the VinFast VF7 2025 is marginally smaller in length, width, and height, giving it a more compact profile.
- Exterior:
- DRLs and connected LED tail lamps
- Projector LED headlamps
- 19-inch black alloy wheels (245/50 R19 section)
- Piano black finish across body elements
- Roof rails (metal), shark fin antenna, and electric tailgate (not available on VF6)
- Boot space: 537 litres with 60:40 split rear seats
- Interior:
- Two-tone brown and black theme with soft-touch materials
- Large central touchscreen controlling infotainment and HVAC
- Leather-wrapped steering wheel with tilt & telescopic adjustment
- Electrically adjustable driver seat
- Wireless charging, multiple USB ports including a 90W Type-C output
- Frameless IRVM, driver monitoring system, and absence of a traditional MID (speed displayed on HUD/screen)
Safety and Technology in VinFast VF7 2025
- ADAS Level 2 features integrated across variants
- 7 airbags for occupant safety
- Parking sensors, driver monitoring, and standard electronic safety systems included
Comfort and Rear Seat Experience
The rear row offers ample legroom and recline, though under-thigh support is slightly compromised due to higher floor positioning. Rear passengers benefit from multiple charging ports, including a high-output 90W USB-C, though this may be more suitable for laptops than smartphones.
Market Positioning
The VinFast VF7 2025 enters a competitive price bracket where it will rival Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, MG Hector, and Toyota Hyryder, while offering the unique advantage of a 500+ km claimed range, fast charging, and a decade-long warranty.
Although its design leans more toward a crossover than a full-fledged SUV, the VF7 positions itself as a strong contender in India’s evolving EV space with its balance of performance, technology, and long-term ownership benefits.
